[ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/cgi-bin\/m\/db.cgi?db=default&amp;uid=default&amp;sb=9&amp;so=ascend&amp;view_records=1&amp;PN=Faue\">More<\/a> ] was accused of misconduct with children dating back to 1966. Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0was a monk at Saint John&#8217;s Abbey from 1945-1950.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->View the document as a PDF\u2026\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Faue-Matthias.pdf\">Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Father\u00a0Mathias Faue and Father Francis Simon (also from St. Gregory&#8217;s) served in several California churches together. Each had multiple victims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gerald\u00a0Faue was born on\u00a0January 26, 1923 in Hamel, Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Gerald\u00a0Faue became an oblate of Saint John&#8217;s Abbey in 1940.<\/p>\n<p>Brother\u00a0Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0became a monk at Saint John&#8217;s Abbey on June 14, 1945.<\/p>\n<p>Brother Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0was\u00a0a 1949 graduate of Saint\u00a0John&#8217;s University.<\/p>\n<p>Brother\u00a0Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0appears in the 1950 <em>Ordo\u00a0<\/em>as a monk of Saint John&#8217;s Abbey. He likely appeared from 1946-1949 as well. The <em>Ordo<\/em> is\u00a0a yearly publication which lists almost every American-Cassinese monk in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Brother\u00a0Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0appears in the 1951\u00a0<em>Ordo\u00a0<\/em>as a monk of St. Gregory&#8217;s Abbey in Shawnee, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>Brother\u00a0Mathias\u00a0Faue was ordained as Father\u00a0Mathias\u00a0Faue on\u00a0April 7, 1951.<\/p>\n<p>Faue\u00a0was arrested in an x-rated movie theater on October 3, 1984.<\/p>\n<p>Faue\u00a0continued priestly duties until 1988.<\/p>\n<p>Mathias\u00a0Faue\u00a0died on January 30, 1988.\u00a0Faue appears in the 1988 but not the 1989\u00a0<em>Ordo.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Assignments:<\/p>\n<p>1954-59 Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Los Angeles<br \/>\n1966-70 St. Benedict Catholic Church Montebello<br \/>\n1984-88 St. Benedict Catholic Church Montebello<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to a 2013 document produced by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Father Mathias Faue,\u00a0O.S.B.
