The eighth anniversary of the disappearance of SJU student Joshua Guimond came this week.<\/p>\n
Guimond was last seen leaving Metten Court about midnight Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002. There were no witnesses or evidence at the scene, leaving his disappearance a mystery. Guimond was 20 at the time of his disappearance.<\/p>\n
It was initially suspected that Guimond fell into a local lake or swampy area. The Trident Foundation searched local lakes and forest and found no trace of Guimond. His family believes he was taken against his will.<\/p>\n
Throughout the last eight years, Guimond\u2019s family has not lost hope.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do hold out hope of seeing Josh again some day,\u201d Bob Guidmond, Joshua\u2019s grandfather, said.<\/p>\n
Brian Guimond, Joshua\u2019s dad, remains optimistic as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no evidence at all that he\u2019s dead,\u201d Brian said.<\/p>\n
Aubrey Immelman, CSB\/SJU professor of psychology, has been involved with the case since near the beginning. He has created a profile of Guimond\u2019s potential abductor [ More<\/a> ] and has made several appeals to the Stearns County Sheriff to bring specialists from the FBI in on the case.<\/p>\n
