The\u00a0St Cloud Times\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0reports Patrick Marker is a 1983 alumnus and a sexual abuse survivor. Marker maintains a website(www.behindthepinecurtain.com<\/a>) that is critical of St. John\u2019s Abbey and its handling of clergy sex abuse. He had been invited by the school to attend the event.<\/p>\n Marker was ousted from the reunion on the private school grounds by a Stearns County Deputy as he ate lunch with fellow alumnus. The newspaper reports that the deputy told Marker that St. John\u2019s Life Safety wanted him off campus. A report written by the deputy doesn\u2019t indicate that Marker was disorderly or disruptive.<\/p>\n The school issued a two-sentence statement in response to the incident.<\/p>\n \u201cSt. John\u2019s Prep responded to a history of hostility in asking an alumnus to leave our private event,\u201d it read. \u201cWe felt it was in the best interests of our guests to ask this person to leave so that others could enjoy the reunion.\u201d<\/p>\n Marker traveled from Washington state to attend the reunion. He said he would not have purchased a plane ticket if he had known that he was going to be kicked out.<\/p>\n Marker acknowledged that he has a strained relationship with St. John\u2019s Prep, the abbey and the university and that he has been asked to leave campus before.
