at Saint John&#8217;s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota\u00a0later this week while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015_Francis_Presentation.pdf\">Abbot John Klassen travels<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Rome to present\u00a0Pope Francis\u00a0with the final volume of the Saint John&#8217;s Bible.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Andert as Prior<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abbot John Klassen appointed Father Tom Andert prior in 2007, despite Klassen&#8217;s knowledge of credible allegations of misconduct by Father Andert. \u00a0In Klassen&#8217;s absence, Father Andert is in charge.<\/p>\n<p>According to a June 15, 2007 press release, &#8220;When the abbot is away from the monastery the prior assumes the abbot&#8217;s leadership role.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the 1993-1994 school year, then-Abbot Timothy Kelly met with several individuals regarding Father Tom Andert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Abbot Timothy met with me\u00a0&#8230;\u00a0I was asked to provide my observations about Andert&#8217;s inappropriate closeness with [Victim].\u00a0 It was enough information to make the abbot force Tom to fully leave the Prep\u00a0School.&#8221; &#8211;\u00a0September 30, 2007 email<\/p>\n<p>By January of 1994, the search was on after\u00a0Abbot Timothy Kelly announced that\u00a0Father Tom Andert was out as headmaster at St. John&#8217;s Preparatory School.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No Action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite multiple\u00a0reports of misconduct by Father Tom Andert, Abbot Klassen has refused to remove Father Andert as prior or start an investigation into his misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Abbot Klassen has, however, initiated investigations into misconduct by\u00a0at\u00a0least three other monks:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a title=\"Ward and Taylor Under Investigation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/wordpress\/ward-and-taylor-under-investigation\/\">Father Dan Ward<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a title=\"Ward and Taylor Under Investigation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/wordpress\/ward-and-taylor-under-investigation\/\">Father Mel Taylor<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a title=\"Regarding Michelle Soldo Consulting \/ Backous\" href=\"http:\/\/www.behindthepinecurtain.com\/wordpress\/regarding-michelle-soldo-consulting\/\">Father Timothy Backous<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accused perpetrator Father Thomas Andert, O.S.B., will be the &#8220;monk-in-charge&#8221;
