About a year ago I was at a meeting at the St. Cloud diocese offices and talked with a lady who was struggling with having an adult son who is homosexual. We got to talking about it and she mentioned that he graduated from the prep school. I asked her if she knew about what went on there, she didn’t have a clue and was shocked when I told her. Wouldn’t you think the Abbot, and anyone else who pretends to care, would send something to alumni and alumni’s parents informing them of what happened?

Email from 1980 Graduate of SJU

Interestingly I get solicited all the time from SJU for money. I have a friend in Minneapolis who’s son was molested by a neighbor, she compared it to SJU, and guess what I NEVER EVER heard about this before this week. Amazing isn’t it.

Regarding Tom Andert

Fr. Tom Andert, OSB, unless I’m very much mistaken, was part and parcel of the sexual underground at the Prep School during the ~1980 time frame. While I have no specific allegations of sexual abuse against him, nor do I know of any, he was very good friends and daily colleagues of Br. Jim Phillips and Father Alan Tarleton during the relevant time periods. I would be VERY much surprised to learn he did not know of the sexual shenanigans doing on in the boys’ dorm and elsewhere.
