Father Timothy Backous, OSB, has been appointed Essentia Health’s Vice President of Mission Integration and Benedictine Sponsorship.
Father Tim will focus the majority of his time on the Catholic hospitals of the Twin Ports, but also will support and coordinate with Essentia’s other Benedictine-sponsored facilities across the health system.
Before joining Essentia, Father Tim served as headmaster of St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, Minn. He holds a doctorate in moral theology from Academia Alfonsiana in Rome, Italy.
Father Tim, who is originally from Aberdeen, S.D., entered the monastery in 1979 and was ordained in 1986.
