In May of 2006, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, along with Saint John’s Abbey, misled the public regarding misconduct by Father Robert Blumeyer.

(Chicago Sin-Times) Loyola University Chicago is hiring a former U.S. ambassador to the Vatican, who faced allegations that he sexually harassed two colleagues while employed as a professor at the University of Dayton, according to an online higher education publication.
(SC Times) A former St. John’s University professor, University of Dayton theology professor and former U.S. ambassador to the Vatican was accused last year of sexually harassing a married couple who also are professors at the University of Dayton, according to a report in an online higher education publication.

Visiting priest Father Anthony Smithwick has previously been credibly accused of sexual misconduct for incidents involving a Saint John’s University student in the early 1990s. At least one of the incidents was reportedly witnessed by, or reported to, Brother Willie.
Saint John’s has reportedly settled with at least one victim of Father Smithwick.
Dr. Anthony Tabor was a member of the Saint John’s University Counseling Service staff in the late-1960’s and 1970’s.
At least one Saint John’s student has alleged sexual misconduct by Dr. Anthony Tabor.

(Pioneer Press) The Rev. Allen Tarlton, a monk with St. John’s Abbey accused of sexually abusing minor students, filed an emergency court order Sunday to bar release of his deposition.
In World War II, many of the generals and officers who were in charge of the troops were convicted of war crimes and hung. It seems the Catholic hierarchy have escaped their due process of the law. These were unthinkable crimes against humanity and involved innocent children. They committed these horrific crimes and hid behind the cross and the Bible. There is no worse crime.
